The Secret Handshake is the musical project of self-taught musician Luis Dubuc, who began performing under the name in the early 2000s. Inspired by artists like Michael Jackson and Daft Punk, he began writing and recording songs in his Dallas-based bedroom with just a laptop and Wurlitzer to assist him. With the release of his first two albums, momentum began building with emo kids looking for a good time. The 2009 release My Name Up in Lights reached #17 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and #45 on the Independent Albums chart. The Secret Handshake tours relentlessly and is looking forward to the Alternative Press “Fall Ball” tour and dates in Australia.
